West Bank
The Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC) was founded in 1983 by a
group of Palestinian agronomists responding voluntarily to the deterioration in
agricultural extension programs in the Jordan Valley area of the West Bank as a
result of the Israeli occupation by offering expert advice to marginalized, poor
farmers in the area. This voluntary effort gained momentum and recognition over
a short period of time, and, transformed into a non governmental organization
dedicated to promoting sustainable development in rural areas in Palestine.
The Arab Agronomists Association (AAA) is one of PARC’s natural expansions, aims
at contributing towards achieving an integrated rural development. Since its
registration in 1992 AAA is considered PARC’s vocational wing, which provides
technical training and extension. As a specialized technical vocational
association, PALESTINIAN AGRICULTURAL RELIEF COMMITTEES (PARC) and
Arab Agronomist Association seek the following positions.
First : Project coordinator
Number of positions: (2)
Main
Responsibilities
Project coordinator
will perform the following duties
·
Preparation of
required reporting about farms needs
·
Supervise
the Design and prepare all required forms for all project implementation stages
·
Carry out the
required farmer training about standards and requirements and other different
related issues; train the farmers how to fill required forms needed for
certification
·
Follow up field
work and extension officers through continuous organized field visits
·
Carry out
practical demonstrations and field days in targeted areas.
·
Follow up the
results of different lab analysis (soil, water, plant .etc)
·
To coordinate
the activities with different project partners and other related organizations
·
Submit
periodical reports about the activities progress
·
Performs other
tasks as may be assigned by the project manager related to the day-to-day
operations of the Projects.

Requirements
-
Related academic background (a minimum of BA in agriculture or related
fields with strong and proven technical and practical experience in capacity
building.
-
At least 6 years experience in good practical work with rural community
sectors (individual farmers and community-based organizations).
-
Having a good knowledge with environmental friendly agricultural techniques
and sustainable agriculture (Organic farming and IPM).
-
Having the ability to travel within the project area.

Having Good computer skills (MS Office software , Internet and e-mail)
-
Having the ability to provide good-quality written and oral reports in
English and Arabic.

Second :
Project Assistants
Number of positions: (2)
Main
Responsibilities
Project Assistant will perform the
following duties
·
To establish and maintain co-ordination and
communication within all AAA technical staff in West Bank and Gaza strip
involved in the above-mentioned felids.
·
To prepare and establish a mode of communication
for Information flow ,feed back ,reports MIS for the projects implemented (e.g.
face-to-face periodical meetings, teleconference calls, field visits
,presentations for delegations ,monitoring of AAA applied demonstrations
stations etc.) information to AAA regional staff members.
·
To help the major members in the AAA staff
meetings; with the main purpose to facilitate the flow of information from the
field to the management and fund ores and vice versa.
·
To prepare the agenda & minutes of AAA meetings
(following a standard format), to distribute promptly to all members and to
forward them to the Management.
·
To establish a data base for all correspondence
related to the organization of AAA meetings and field activities.
·
To follow up as appropriate on all decisions taken
by the management of AAA.
·
Provide translation services (Arabic – English –
Arabic) to the projects documents, meetings and events.
·
Assist the Projects Coordinators and the
administrative office in Ramallah with all day to day administrative,
secretarial, bookkeeping, personnel and office management tasks
·
Drafts, types and sends correspondences, including
memoranda and emails.
·
Receives messages and processes correspondence,
and sets appointments for meetings.
·
Receives visitors and provides timely information
to queries.
·
Maintains
general office files in an orderly manner, and keeps information and reference
materials that are easily accessed and retrieved.
Requirements
·
University degree preferably with special training
on office management
·
At least three years experience in working in
similar position in an NGO/private sector company
·
Proven proficiency in English, Knowledge of French
and Italian is an advantage
·
Proven skills in office management including
computer skills with e-mail use and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel
spreadsheets)
·
Personal characteristics: Hardworking and takes
initiative, open and willing to learn new things, efficient and systematic,
honest, personable and has a good sense of humor. Knowledge of conditions,
resources and contacts in Palestine
Third :Extension Officers
Number of
positions: (4)
Main
Responsibilities
Extension officers will perform the following duties

Supervise
the process of beneficiaries' selection and evaluation
·
Carry out the
need assessment for selected farms throughout field visits
·
Preparation of
required reporting about farms needs
·
Design and
prepare all required forms for all project implementation stages
·
Carry out the
required farmer training about standards and requirements and other different
related issues; train the farmers how to fill required forms needed for
certification
·
Follow up field
work and extension services through continuous organized field visits
·
Carry out
practical demonstrations and field days in targeted areas.
·
Supervising
farmers and agronomists in terms of providing phone information’s
·
Submit
periodical reports about the activities progress
Requirements

plant production or plant protection) with strong and proven technical and
practical experience in Organic and Global standards.

Fourth: Quality Control officer
Number of positions :( 2)
Main
Responsibilities
Quality Control Officer will perform the following duties
·
The Project will be implemented at Jenin, Qalqilya,
Tulkarem, Jericho and Jordan Valley districts.
·
Follow up project activities at project locations.
·
Apply internal auditing on the individual farmers
and the quality management system at targeted cooperatives.
·
Document all activities and ensure information
correctness
·
prepare all required reports to be submitted to
the project manager
·
Follow up baking and marketing process by
verifying gathered information quality.
·
Follow the field agronomist work by phone calls or
field visits.
·
Coordinate with exporting companies to facilitate
marketing process.
·
Knowledge of all marketing programs.
·
High knowledge of applying GLOBALGAP system.
