  • (April 2003 – present) Director:

Director of Arab Agronomist Association (AAA)/ Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committee (PARC): Projects management, monitoring and Evaluation. Data management, proposal and reports writing. Preparing and following up proposals and implementation work plans for several projects being or will be implemented by PARC in the West Bank and Gaza strip. The projects are or both medium term and long term developmental nature in the fields of Water, food security, capacity building projects, and agricultural production (plant and animal sectors), Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC), Ramallah, Palestine.

  • (September 2003 – present) Assistant professor (PT): Sustainable Rural Development Program, Faculty of Higher Studies, Al-Quds University, Abu Deis, Jerusalem.

  •  (October 1997 – March 1999) Projects Coordinator and Extension Agent

    Managing and coordinating the agricultural and water projects in Jenin District that has been funded by EU. Education:

  • PhD degree in Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences, Department of Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences, University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany, 2003. The Ph.D. research is entitled “Economics and Management of the Use of Different Water Qualities in Irrigation in the West Bank”. The Ph.D. study was done with a full scholarship from the German academic exchange service (DAAD).

  • Master Degree in Environmental Science, An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine, 1998.This was integrated within a joint-research-program with Gent University, Belgium, under the topic: “Remediation of Water Pollution, Biodegradation and Desertification". The MSc research is entitled “Irrigation Economics in Palestine”.

Professional Activities:

  • Representing Palestine as a member of the Central and West Asia and North Africa (CWANA) regional design team for the International Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology (IAASTD). Organised by World Bank, held in Rabat from 8-12 February, 2005, Morocco.

  • Representing Palestine in the international workshop on Alternative Guarantees for Organic Production Seminar and Workshop, launching a pilot project to establish an Information Network to exchange information on Alternative Guarantees for Organic Production in Palestine -risk management and regulation between the member countries. Organised by FAO and IFOAM, held in Torres from 13-17 April, 2004, Brazil.

  • Member in the training team for the training course Project Cycle Management as a main trainer, which held in the Agricultural Engineers Association from 21 – 29 February 2004, Amman, Jordan.
